The Fairy’s Story

The Kitchen Fairy is owned and personally overseen by Debbie Earle. Having trained at Christina Martin School of Food and Wine (in Durban Kzn), I thereafter managed Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse, (a boutique hotel in the Kamberg, Drakensberg). Fourteen months later I returned to Christina Martin School of Food and Wine, to follow a dream of lecturing aspiring chefs for the next three years, many of whom are today held in the highest esteem.

Prior to all this I grounded myself in personnel: managing and placing them, believing that in order to appreciate food, it firstly is necessary to appreciate people. In 2007, I relocated to appreciate Johannesburg, joining an award winning catering establishment, eventually becoming their head of kitchen (at any one time 30 plus chefs).

So with these years of food and hospitality, I founded the Kitchen Fairy, successfully venturing on my own, catering according to my credo of: a culinary of symphony…

Our Cuisine

The Kitchen Fairy’s extensive culinary experience can transport you and your guests to the furthest corners of the world! Here are just a few:

Mediterranean

Healthy and delicious Mediterranean food can be light and refreshing, but still filling. This veggie-focused cuisine uses a lot of lemon juice, olive oil and parsley to flavor salads, rice and grain dishes, meats and more. Plus, the food lends itself to either buffet-style catering setups or boxed lunches, complete with wraps and side salads.

Asian

Or try some Asian! You may not think of sushi as a universally appealing option for meals in the conference room, but this cuisine offers so much more than just nigiri or sashimi. Japanese catering companies will likely also offer rice bowls with various protein choices, noodles, soups and salads. 

Italian

Pizza, pasta and grilled chicken will always please, especially from an authentic Italian spot. It’s also possible to eat lighter with Italian food – spaghetti with meatballs instead of lasagna, or bean and vegetable soup instead of creamy Italian sausage and potato soup.
